It's 2 A.M. I'm sober now,but I'm still gonna dump this late-night fever dream straight from my brain onto the page! Yes,even the embarrassing parts. No shame. Just full send!!
The delusion of 2 A.M.,September 12,2025? It was about… my daughter's dream for the future.
So I ask my imaginary daughter,
“Sweetie, what do you want to be when you grow up?”
She says,
“I wanna be a princess!”
Cute,right?
But sadly,I'm not royalty.
Meaning, her odds of becoming a princess are about the same as mine of becoming a unicorn.
Still, maybe we can work something out depending on what she thinks a "princess" means. So I ask:
“What does being a princess mean to you?”
She says,“A governing political figure with sovereign power, primarily focused on diplomatic excellence.”
...what.
I expected glitter and tiaras.
She gave me United Nations strategy.
But before I could be amazed any further?I remembered something.
I don't have a daughter.
…Wait.
I don't have a son either.
I don't have any kids.
So what the hell was that whole conversation?!
Plot twist: the biggest surprise was me.

Y'know, the more I think about it,the whole “princess” thing?it's not all sparkles and gowns.
It's political.
Same goes for "Demon Kings" in fantasy RPGs.
In the end, they're basically politicians with a cool hat.
Whether it's a Demon Lord or an evil syndicate in a superhero show?they always want to “take over the world,” right?
But like…
Do you actually want to rule the world?
Speaking as someone nearing 50,let me tell you?I've tried world domination many times.
In games,that is:
Nobunaga's Ambition,Romance of the Three Kingdoms,Hearts of Iron,Warcraft… you name it.
And here's what all simulation gamers know:
More territory = more work.
Yes,more land gives you more resources.
But guess what? Those resources come from people.
And if you conquer people, you gotta take care of them.
If you just snatch the goods and ghost the citizens, sure?you might get a quick power boost.
But long-term? Your empire crumbles.
In games, there's often no penalty for “mass neglect.”
But in the real world?
You will get overthrown.
So here's the deal:
Conquering a country means inheriting all its social problems too.
If your goal is “fix the world's suffering,” then fine?go for global rule.
But if you're just in it for the clout, control,or shiny loot…
World domination is honestly a terrible business model.
Me?
I can't even fix my own mess.
No way I'm volunteering to fix someone else's.
World domination?
Thanks,but no thanks.
...Still love simulation games though.
Can't quit ‘em.
